Project overview

KOKUYO is one of the world’s largest stationery and office furniture companies. As of 2021, it had almost 7,000 employees and more than ¥300 billion in annual sales.

There are few Japanese students who haven’t used one of the firm’s iconic Campus brand notebooks at some point. But, while KOKUYO has deep roots in Japan, the global market has become increasingly important for its long-term strategic growth. So, the firm decided it needed to redesign and rebuild its global website.

KOKUYO approached Paradigm for help.

We started by rewriting key messages to make the content on the site relevant for a global audience. Then, we visualized KOKUYO’s VISION 2030 — be Unique. — for display on a responsive website. The scalable design guidelines that we created include sophisticated theming components. These allowed staff at KOKUYO to easily modify predefined themes and templates.

In addition to the global website redesign, we oversaw art direction of a photo and video shoot. This took place at KOKUYO’s newly opened Campus facility in Shinagawa.

Tomomi Katagiri, in the Communications Department at KOKUYO, said, “Thanks to Paradigm, we were able to launch an incredibly wonderful website. We are truly grateful to everyone on the team.”
