Project overview

In the summer of 2023, Wix — one of the world’s leading no-code website building platforms — took the important step of launching Wix Studio, a product created specifically to help agencies and professional designers build websites for their clients. To promote the initiative, Wix executives and Wix Studio experts travelled around the world, including to the US, the UK, Australia, India, and Brazil, holding developer workshops to showcase Wix Studio’s features and give existing Wix clients and other VIPs some extensive hands-on training on how to use this sophisticated new tool.

Wix asked Paradigm to help plan and manage the two-week long in-person developer workshop in Tokyo.

Birth Lab, a trendy venue in the upscale Azabu-juban neighbourhood, had been selected to host the event, but none of the other details had been decided on. The full-day sessions were scheduled to start with breakfast and included lunch then light snacks in the late afternoon, so we started by presenting options for catering. Together with Wix, we decided on an interesting option — a catering partner who specialized in Scandinavian dishes.

We then secured two highly skilled interpreters to translate the talks for attendees and liaise between speakers and participants to ensure all questions were answered and everything was clearly communicated.

Wix had produced an impressive range of swag, such as backpacks and water bottles with the Wix Studio logo on them, that was to be given to attendees. Some of the items had been made in Japan and others were being delivered from Israel and China. Paradigm received all of it to manage the inventory and deliver the correct number of items for each day.

We also helped to organize a VIP dinner for Wix Japan’s important partners on the Thursday night.

Owners and developers from website design businesses came from across Japan for the event. Paradigm assigned a bilingual event manager, Taishi Hashimoto, to be on hand every day and ensure the workshops went as smoothly for them and the Wix team members as possible. He made sure all the necessary equipment was available and working, was ready to help sort out any issues that arose, and acted as the intermediary between the English-speaking Wix team and the Japanese-speaking venue staff.

Paradigm was asked to document the event, so we commissioned a photographer to be there for some of the key moments.

The event went well, and we got some very positive feedback from the Wix team.

“Thank you for your collaboration — we appreciate everything you did,” said Yafit Lotan, Head of Marketing Production at Wix. “And thanks to the amazing Taishi, who worked hard and always had a big smile on his face.”

Taito Sakurai, Director of Marketing at Wix Japan, added: “The Wix team concluded the two-week events on a high note, and I want to express my appreciation. Thank you once again for your support. It’s a pleasure to share this achievement with you and your team.”
