Project overview

“A full-service creative agency in Tokyo” so we say, right on our website, and we mean it. In practice, this spans marketing, copywriting, website design and development, and apparently even Safari Design. But it’s not just different projects we take on, problems we solve: it’s different scales, different timelines.

After first getting connected with the team at Hitachi IES some time ago, we were delighted for them to return to choose Paradigm to help produce a new video for the center of their website, and another in service of a new marketing campaign.

Hitachi IES is quite a large corporation, with many moving parts and lots of sensitive information. Luckily, we’re well-suited to managing projects at this scale, and were happy to rise to the challenge. Even more, this was an important video for Hitachi IES, and much longer than your standard 30 second commercial — detailing their efforts to become even more sustainable.

For such a significant video, it would need to be filmed in person, at Hitachi factories across the country; each with all the unique restrictions you can imagine, and some you can’t! Moreover, the video was to use actual Hitachi IES staff, and show actual manufacturing processes — with no compromises. There’s no green screen here.

Our team of bilingual project managers and creatives worked closely with the team at Hitachi to make sure all the production was done safely, efficiently, and effectively. We made storyboards and scripts, meticulously planning each shot before we even got on location. Of course, we had to be flexible to shifting schedules and access, and open to new opportunities that presented themselves on the day.

Once into post-production, the team worked to shape the footage into an edit spanning over three minutes, complete with subtitles and a voiceover in both English and Japanese. These were then further cut down into versions for social media and out-of-home advertising, conforming to stringent specifications.

From first-concept to final delivery, Paradigm managed every step of the way. Full-service indeed!
